Cattle related organizations and co-ops in Hawaii

1. Hawaii Cattle Producers Cooperative Association

The Hawaii Cattle Producers Cooperative Association is a producer-owned cooperative established in 1984 to support Hawaii’s cattle industry through collective marketing, transportation, and industry collaboration. The cooperative was formed to help local ranchers overcome challenges related to geographic isolation, rising production costs, and limited processing infrastructure. Today, the organization continues to assist cattle producers across the Hawaiian Islands by coordinating cattle shipment, supporting local beef marketing programs, and strengthening the economic sustainability of Hawaii’s ranching community. The cooperative also promotes responsible ranch management, high-quality beef production, and long-term stewardship of Hawaii’s agricultural lands and natural resources.

The Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council is the statewide voice of Hawaii’s cattle industry, representing cattle producers and ranching associations across the Hawaiian Islands. The council works to promote and protect Hawaii’s beef cattle industry through advocacy, education, research collaboration, environmental stewardship, and producer support. By working with county cattlemen’s associations, government agencies, agricultural organizations, and industry partners, the council addresses issues related to ranch sustainability, animal health, land management, food security, and local beef production. The organization also plays an important role in preserving Hawaii’s paniolo ranching heritage while supporting innovation and long-term growth within the state’s livestock sector.

The Hawaii Beef Industry Council is dedicated to promoting and strengthening Hawaii’s beef industry through consumer education, marketing, research, and industry outreach. The organization works to increase awareness and demand for locally raised Hawaii beef while supporting ranchers, producers, and agricultural communities across the islands. Through partnerships, promotional programs, educational initiatives, and community engagement, the council helps connect consumers with high-quality local beef products and supports the long-term sustainability and economic growth of Hawaii’s cattle industry.
